A 33-year-old farmer in Ipetumodu, Ife-North Local Government Area of Osun State, Israel Awojobi, has sought help from Nigerians to take care of his family as the wife has just been delivered of a set of triplets.
Awojobi, who spoke to PUNCH Metro on the telephone on Sunday, said he had incurred a huge debt following complications that accompanied the pregnancy and the eventual delivery of the babies on July 24, 2020.
According to him, although the mother and babies are in a stable condition, the debt of over N500,000 that he has incurred for their treatment is a source of concern.
He said, “I am a farmer though I have a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration. My wife also holds a Higher National Diploma in Survey and Geo-informatics.
“I already have two children before my wife gave birth to the triplets. The arrival of the babies should have been a thing of joy, but I am not finding life easy again. I currently owe over N500,000.
“I have spent more than that since she got pregnant and on the delivery and care for the babies. But that is the debt incurred after I have exhausted all I had. I would have run away, but I will never consider that option. I am a farmer and I have spent all I have on the mother and the babies. I need the assistance of Nigerians.”
